About Rep. David Knezek
State Representative David Knezek is serving his first term representing Michigan’s 11th House District, which includes the cities of Garden City and Inkster, as well as parts of Dearborn Heights, Livonia, and Westland.
Before serving in the Legislature, Knezek served in the U.S. Marine Corps, completing two tours of duty in Iraq as a scout sniper platoon member. After being honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant, Knezek worked as a substitute teacher in Wayne County. At the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Knezek served as president of the student body before earning a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Knezek is a lifelong resident of Dearborn Heights. He is the first Iraq War veteran to serve in the Michigan Legislature and the youngest member of the House Democratic Caucus.
